This morning we started learning about oceans.


I found out that coral only grows 1 centimeter a year.

Later on, I want to find out how is coral created ?

This Week in maths I work on LPG 13 " Equivalent Fraction."

This week in reading I worked on LPG 5 " I can locate and summarise ideas by skimming and scanning and using key words."

In writing this week I worked on LPG 9 " I can independently select and write in different purposes."

In my opinion pod 5 should have a class football team. These reasons below are to have a class football team.

Firstly sportsmanship is a big thing in any sport. Because this is a good option for kids to show good sportsmanship. Because of this we teach kids to be polite to other kids. Also this will teach kids not just to be nice to the players but to the reef as well.

Miss Hacketts group used two strategys.

This week in math I worked on " Solve multiplication and division problems using a range of strategies"

We had to write a range of strategies such as multiplication, division, addition and subtraction.

This week in maths I worked on " Times tables and basic facts "
In my basic facts test I got 100 and my time out of 6:30 was 5:50. ;)
And on the left was a times table grid was a warm up game I vs Louis

This week in writing I work on " Persuasive Writing "
Persuasive  Writing is when you agree or disagree.
Th whole class had to agree or disagree to wear mufti at Hurupaki school.

In Reading this week Colbolt was reading North

Colbolt did a story sequence and a story sequence is when you put your story in even shoter story

This week in maths I worked on to " solve multiplication facts"

Mr B's group did multiplication fact what looked like this.

25 x 45 = 8925
20  x  40 = 8000
20 x 5 = 100
40 x 5 = 800
5 x 5 = 25

In maths this week my goal was " i am learning to use tidy numbers to solve multiplication problems"

The legend of Lake Ora

Do you remember the legend of Lake Ora, shore you do. Remember when it was a full moon and there was  splashes in the water, and a green slimy thing in the water. Remember that the village believed that there was a Taniwha that lived in the lake nere by.

Remember how it was exactly one year later the village was ewakn by the, girl who sleeps near the water. Remember how the brave warrior wanted to that he was strong and he was not afraid of anything. Remember how the brave warrior went into his house, grabbed his biggest and sharpest spear. Remember when the brave warrior went free diving for two whole days. Remember how the brave warrior came back with only a chunk of the taniwha but no the girl. Remember how the brave warrior streed up the lake so now the water is all redy browny.

And that was the legend of Lake Ora.

My goal in writing was "I can use fullstops, question marks, exclamation marks, and speech marks correctly 

This week in maths I worked on basic facts

This week in maths I work on maths beating my best time and high score in a basic facts test.
This week the whole class had 6:30 min to try and complet the whole sheet, if you can complet it under 6:30 min then you write down the time bbbuuuttt if you do not get 100 write then your time will not cont. But I  got 100 B-).

This week,one goal in math I worked on was tidy decimals 

THE LEANING PIT

The learning pit
The learning pit is when you are stuck. When you get stuck it means you are trying to work out a maths sheet or reading. To get out of the learning pit you need too work out the sheet and then your so so so HAPPY.

This is my math book. When Mr B marks your math book he might give you a  smile face and you will get 100 points. This week my goal is Tidy decimals.
